English Hymn 47
O Love, the bright sunshine you are,
To the poor soul of man.
When you give us the bright radiance,
Vanquished are alI’ man’s woes.
The night is past, all fear is gone,
Under the sunshine bright.
Life and joy to our domain come,
Comfort the broken heart.
O gracious love that freely flows
From days of old and even now;
Suffice to me, and even you;
Suffice to all and every one.
Your love’s radiation from the cross,
Brightens my dark domain.
Wakes me from the darkness of sin;
Awakened to new life.
Now I know the One that loves me,
Who loves me unto death.
I’ll surrender wholly to him,
And ever praise his name.
The light that brightens all my way,
Has brought a life of joy.
My Jesus, my Emmanuel;
Though tossed and pressed down and in tears,
I still do sing his praise,
I will for ever sing his praise,
Before his royal throne.
